Victory I & Victory II in Layup
A Note from Our COO:
By David Kelly, Chief Operating Officer
There is a season in every ship’s year dedicated not to sailing, but to stewardship.
For Victory I and Victory II, layup is that season — a deliberate pause that allows us to focus fully on the care, maintenance, and forward investment required of vessels entrusted with the journeys of so many guests.
While our ships may be out of service, they are far from still.
Across both vessels, our marine and technical teams are executing a comprehensive program of engine top-end servicing, mechanical overhauls, dry dock work, and annual regulatory inspections in partnership with the United States Coast Guard. This work is rigorous, highly disciplined, and essential. It ensures that when our ships return to the water, they do so with the reliability, safety, and operational integrity that define great maritime organizations.
Excellence at sea is never accidental — it is engineered, inspected, and continuously refined.
Alongside these critical technical projects, we are advancing a number of enhancements designed to further elevate the onboard experience. Guests will notice a more sophisticated ambiance through upgraded lighting, expanded culinary capability supported by new galley equipment, and an enhanced sound experience within the Compass Lounge that will enrich our onboard programming.
Equally important — though less visible — is our ongoing investment in the environments where our crew live and work. New flooring and refreshed bathroom fixtures within crew areas reflect a belief we hold firmly: when we care exceptionally well for our crew, they in turn deliver the intuitive, gracious service our guests remember long after a voyage ends.
Much of what defines a great ship is never seen. It is found in the discipline behind the walls, beneath the decks, and within the culture of the people who operate her.
Layup is not simply a maintenance window; it is a reaffirmation of our standards and our responsibility as operators.
When Victory I and Victory II return to service, they will do so not only refreshed, but resolute — prepared to deliver the kind of experience that inspires confidence the moment you step aboard.
Stewardship is a privilege. One we approach with humility, seriousness, and pride.
We look forward to welcoming you aboard.
